The wonderful news of God's salvation is that He loves youFor God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) 1, and that even though we all have come shortFor all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) of His goodness 2 (that is what sin is), He has made a way to forgive us of all our sins, and to cleanse us of them. But how is this possible?
You must realize that you can do nothing to earn this gift from GodFor by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) 3. It is through God's love and grace toward us that He offers forgiveness, through faith in JesusJesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6) 4. It was Jesus who gave His life willingly for you, canceling your debt to God, and He was raised from the dead to guarantee your right standing before GodBut for us also, to whom it [righteousness] shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.(Romans 4:24-25) 5. He stands even now as a friend, interceding on your behalfFor there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all….(I Tim 2:5-6) 6, so that nothing can separate you from His loveWhat shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? ... For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor prinicipalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:31, 38-39) 7.
How do you receive this gift? By believing...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved... (Acts 16:31)8 on Jesus, God's Son, accepting His perfect life and sacrifice on your behalf, and committing yourself, in faith, to God. It is He who calls you, He who forgives, and He who will keep and guide youMy sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they will follow Me. And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.(John 10:27-28) 9.
God offers you peace right now with Himself And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.(Philippians 4:7) 10 and with your fellow man, and eternal life These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life (I John 5:13) 11 in His presence when this short life has ended. Won't you accept God's gift, by calling For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.(Romans 10:13),12 upon Him, and committing your life to Him today?
If your true heart's desire is to repent (turn from your sin) and seek God, here is a simple prayer you might pray.
"Dear God, I know that I have done wrong, and I know there is nothing I can ever do to earn your favor. I believe that Jesus lived a perfect life, and that He satisfied your perfect demands by giving His life in my stead, and by rising again from the dead. I believe that He paid my debt to you and has declared me "not guilty", and that through Him I can stand before you clean again. Please forgive my sins for His sake, and help me to put my trust in you, to live from now on as a Christian. Teach me the way I should live, and give me strength to do it each day. Thank you for your gift. Thank you for peace. Thank you for your love that will never fail, and that will welcome me before your presence when my life on this Earth is over."
That is it. Salvation is as simple as "ABC": Admitting you have sinned, Believing Jesus died for you, and Confessing Him as Lord of your life.
We sincerely hope you prayed that prayer, or one much like it, today. We encourage you to read your Bible, and to become involved with fellow believers in Christ in a good local church. And finally, tell someone of your experienceThat if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.(Romans 10:9-10) 13. We encourage you to start with us, that we may be glad for you, and with you. May God continue to richly bless you!
